ABOUT JAKE DOLLERY

2024 sees the fortieth anniversary of when Jake first took to the stage. He fronted The Dead Legionnaires in 87, then Jake & The Space Cakes in 88 and, in the early 90's, the rock/pop band The Fisherkings.

 

In the mid 90's he quit playing live to concentrate on writing, recording and producing his own material. In the late 90's he took a hiatus from music for nearly a decade until he resumed writing and recording in 2007. He returned to the stage in 2009 performing solo acoustic sets to very appreciative live audiences. He has also involved himself in promoting music events in his home town of Reading.

Jake Dollery is a formidable award nominated recording artist and is celebrating 40 years in music this year. He has written and recorded 9 albums (including an electronic chill out album) plus one compilation album, eight of which, including his latest album: "Paroxysm" are available on all major downloading and streaming sites and Bandcamp now.

Jake is a British singer, songwriter and guitarist and has been musically active since the late 1980s. Jake has fronted a rock/punk band, a covers band and also, in the early 90's, a rock/pop band as well as performing solo in recent years. Jake also hosts his own radio show on Radio Wigwam at 9pm every Tuesday night and 2pm Saturday afternoon

Jake’s songs combine his love of many music genres, including rock, heavy rock, punk, indie, alternative and pop which enable him to create his varied sound.  Strong melodies with honest, heart on sleeve lyrics are delivered with an undeniable passion for his craft. His belief is, is that musical creativity knows no boundaries. Jake was nominated for an award as Best Male Artist at The Radio Wigwam annual awards in 2020.

Whilst continuing to write and record his own new material, Jake has also recorded many cover versions of songs from a wide range of genres. Over the years, he has collaborated with some fantastic talent on various original and covered tracks including the likes of  Mark Summers (Hitchmo), Charlie Waygood (Two Man Medicine Show), Neil Fouracre (Ex Johnny Thunders Guitarist), Claire Zena, Jo Matthews, Filip Zoric, Jon Legg (Friday Night Music Club), Jon Lucas (Rad Grand Dad), Paul Curran (The PCBs), Jane Bertrand, Teige Spence and Phil Hamblin. 

Jake has been enjoying international recognition with radio airplay around the world including the UK, US, Australia and Europe.

Jake currently presents two weekly Radio shows on Radio Wigwam every Tuesday at 9pm or Saturday at 2pm UK time as well as Gunslingers & Outlaws pm Tuesday's and Wednesday's
